As the London, Ontario population continues to blossom, new home developments are following suit. There are 37 reported new home developments, and of those, 11 are condominiums, 2 are apartments, 5 are townhouses, and the remaining 19 are single family home developments. For this post, we’re going to focus on two developments that are generating widespread excitement!

Wickerson Hills – New Home Development

Byron’s newest community, this gem of a neighborhood rests in west London off Wickerson Road. The area provides exceptional new home opportunities with luxury finishes for all lifestyle preferences.

Byron is situated along the Thames River offering an abundance of natural landscape to enjoy, be it observing, walking, or cycling. Close to the Wickerson Hills neighborhood is Summercrest Park, which includes a playground and swing set. The Byron Optimist Sports Complex is minutes away off Boler Road. The Sports Complex is home to 3 soccer fields, 3 baseball diamonds, equipment storage buildings, a playground, and a concession booth.

The London Ski Club, more recently renamed Boler Mountain, is in the same area as Summercrest Park and is an excellent place for the kids to learn to ski or snowboard or enjoy an afternoon of tubing. In the summer months, the ski hill is open for mountain biking and has a wide-range of activities, including zip lining, rope courses, and volleyball.

The Wickerson Hills neighbourhood is served by some of London’s most excellent Public and Catholic schools. Nearby Public schools include Byron Southwood, Kensal Park Public School, B. Davidson Secondary School, Saunders Secondary School, and Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School. Neighboring Catholic schools are St. Teresa Separate School, St. Anthony Catholic Elementary School, and St. Thomas Aquinas. Be sure to check with the schools regarding their boundaries and busing options.

For shopping and restaurants, the Byron Village Plaza features a Metro grocery store, a pharmacy, an LCBO, a medical clinic, and a TD bank. Restaurants such as Tim Hortons and the Byron Freehouse, are located across the intersection, along with the Byron Branch of the London Library.

Creekview – New Home Development

The exquisitely new and in-demand Creekview community resides in north London, near the intersections of Fanshawe Park and Wonderland Road.

Creekview provides an ambiance of nature coinciding with terrific accessibility to all of London’s finest amenities. The location is unrivaled, just a stone’s throw away from a large shopping plaza, a short drive to Masonville Mall, and walkable schools and parks.

A Walmart, Costco, No Frills, and Masonville Mall are the main commercial hubs serving the neighbourhood. The Masonville Mall alone has over 130 stores and restaurants. Stores include Hudson’s Bay, H&M, Zara, and a Shoppers Drug Mart. The mall is also home to a SilverCity Cinema, providing an easy go-to for your family on a rainy day.

For families with young children, you won’t have to look far for excellent schools. Public schools nearby include Centennial Central, Jeanne Sauve, and HS Banting. Catholic schools in and around Creekview include Saint Catherine of Siena, St. John, HS Mother Teresa, and Saint Andre Bessette. Be sure to check with the schools regarding their boundaries and busing options.

For a day outside, the Medway Valley Heritage Forest is mere walking distance. Take a family walk along the Medway Creek through over 10 kilometers of trials. Thankfully, the forest is open to the public through all seasons and provides idyllic scenery throughout the winter months. Foxfield District Park is also a supremely pleasant, nearby option.

Golf lovers will appreciate the proximity of the Sunningdale Golf and Country Club. Just a short drive away, the esteemed club covers 400 acres and has two 18-hole courses.

The Creekview neighbourhood is far enough from the downtown core but close enough to venture into the heart of London for dinner plans or an afternoon shopping trip. It is the perfect spot to raise a family and start anew.
