Things to do in London, Ontario in August 2019

With the end of summer vacation fast approaching, many Londoners will be looking to take advantage of the many events around the city for the month of August. Thankfully, there is no shortage of activities and festivals happening around the forest city. Grab the family and soak in the last few weeks of summer vacation!

August 1-5 – What better want to spend the Civic Holiday weekend than enjoying mouth-watering ribs and crisp, cool, craft beers. Held at Victoria Park, the Ribfest & Craft Beer Festival is an event for all. With musical guests, rides, vendors and of course delicious food and brews.

August 10-11: Dessert Fest – Those with a sweet tooth will want to head down to Covent Garden Market for this 2 day festival celebrating all things sweet & savory. The Dessert Fest is a showcase of London’s best sweets and treats. Featuring live entertainment, vendor’s, exhibitor tent and a kids zone!

August 16-18: Inked Circus Tattoo Expo – Interested in tattooing? You will want to check out the Inked Circus Tattoo Expo being held at the London Convention Centre. This weekend long expo features 2 18+ days, Friday and Saturday and a family day on Sunday. Admission cost is $20 and gives access to hundreds of amazing tattoo artists, live tattooing and a “circus” of additional entertainment.

August 17: Pawlooza – Your furry friends will be thrilled to spend the day at Pawlooza, which is the ultimate dog party. The Plunkett Estates is hosting this event which is estimating 25,000 people and 6,000 dogs. Your dog will enjoy activities such as dock diving, lure course, off leash area and catch area. The cost for the event is $10 per car and all proceeds go to charity supporting animals in need.

August 17: 5K Foam Fest  – Participate in the Foam Fest being held at Boler mountain. Spend the day racing friends and family while getting cleaned off in this bubbly fun run. Cost and start times range, more information available online.

August 24-25: London Taco Fest – The third annual Taco Fest is back at Dundas Place! Enjoy tasty tacos and cool cervezas. Also at the event will be numerous vendors, Lucha Libre (Wrestlers) Spicy Taco Contest, Taco Fest Beer, Tequila Mariachi and more! Cost is $10 a ticket with portions of the price being donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
